32 Cents Postcard Art Collective

The first volume of works from the 32 Cents Postcard Art Collective is online now. I enjoyed very much working on my piece (shown above) and was happy to get a a unique postcard  in my mailbox. Although I consider myself a passionate of analogue mail and have enjoyed exchanging flying letters for a long time, this is the first time I join a network that focuses on the circulation and the making of postcards. The idea, envisioned by my friend Jack Murphy, is that each member of the collective designs a postcard and sends it via postal mail to another participant that is chosen through a randomized process. I am excited about this project and I am looking forward to experiment with collage techniques in the postcards I create. I am not the only one who is making collages, several contributors to the first volume are also applying this approach.

Each month, all the art works from the collective will be posted at thirtytwocents.tumblr.com . Please share and distribute them if you feel inclined to do so. It will be great to see  these analogue postcards traveling in digital space as well. If you are interested in participating in this network please send an email to thirtytwocents [AT] gmail.com .
