This project consists in recording the sound of taxi radio telephones in Bogota: the voices of the central and all the other taxi drivers. An inventory of their codes: M12 14. or 5 40. R15. QAP. the recording lasts the length of the ride. The passenger will start recording as soon as he enters the taxi. If it is possible, the researcher needs to place the microphone close to the speaker for better quality. At night, between 7-10pm when there is a lot of activity will be a nice time. Also consider at other times.
The taxi driver that i spoke tonight told me once he was with a passenger that extended the length of the ride in order to listen to the radio taxi for longer. On the radio taxi, a lively narration of a chase was broadcasted. It was live, en vivo, en tiempo real, that the central and other taxi drivers where narrating the chase. It was in the south of bogota. i didn’t ask how the chase ended. However, I asked if it would be ok if the passenger had recorded the chase narration. He said it would be ok.
