Technology and Education in Latin America: the TELA initiative

As the digital age evolves learning and education continue to experiment major transformations. These areas have been at the cusp of major social, economic, and cultural changes and at the center of government policies related to digital inclusion. Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) like the Internet, networked mobile devices, and personal computers have transformed and are changing both formal and informal education. Although the adoption of technology in education is a global trend, specific regions confront different challenges and opportunities according to their cultural, geographical, and political contexts. With the objective of helping to understand how technology is transforming education in Latin America, and contribute to the development of programs, best practices, and policies, we have created the TELA (Technology and Education in Latin America) initiative. What started as regular working group meetings at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, is now growing and becoming a bigger project that we intend to scale and develop in the next years. 1. Hola María! thanks for your comment. The TELA has many themes to explore! I also think about it. I am now in Bogota, working at several projects, many of them related to education and learning, in the lines of TELA initiative. I hope you are doing well!
